Sunday Morning Reminisce

Since I haven't done any clothes shopping this week/weekend, I figured I'd devote most of today's blog to past deals. I've decided to highlight some of the shoes/boots that I bought when Chadwicks had their warehouse sale. The first time that I went, it was a "friends and family" sale so everything was half off of the warehouse prices. That meant that shoes were $2.50 a pair and boots were $5.00. The second time, shoes were $5.00 which was still a steal because they're nice shoes, none of they are cheaply made. I'll start with a pair that you'll recognize from my profile picture. These shoes are made by Rampage and are cloth(wool?) with a black and white houndstooth print. Here's the pic:

The second is a pair of boots the I picked up at the first sale, so they were only $5! They are made by Bijou New York and they're off-white faux leather. What I love most about them is all of the detail; they are studded, belted, and have three chains that wrap around the back of the heel. Here's a pic:

The next pair is also by Bijou New York and are turquoise suede. This shoe is a peep toe flat with a darker turquoise belt on the front and accent on the back. My favorite detail though is the fringe. They also had this shoe in other colors, but not in my size. :( Here's a pic:

These shoes are a similar color, but the similarity ends there. The heel on this shoe is what caught my eye. It's really different because it's like a wedge with a piece cut out. The heel is silver and made of a very hard plastic. The upper material is pretty stiff too, but I'm hoping it will soften up after I wear them a few times. I also bought these the first time I went to Chadwicks. I may have to repeat this Chadwicks flashback another time to fit some more in, but here's a pic:

The reason for my lack of shopping is that I've made a big purchase this week instead. I bought the new iPhone 4S. I have to wait until December 9th to get it because it's out of stock, but it's given me some time to shop for cases/covers/skins etc. I'll be able to have something delivered by the time it gets here. I found some really cheap accessory bundles on ebay which is usually where I get mine. I started looking because I found a decal that I really liked on etsy and I want to put a hard case around it too. The decal is vinyl and covers the back of the iPhone. I'm putting it up as my deal of the day because at $6 and a $3.25 shipping charge, it's one of the least expensive...and coolest decals that I've seen. Here's a pic and the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/84643779/dont-spread-the-dead-iphone-4-iphone-4s
Don't Spread the Dead iPhone 4, iPhone 4s Skin

On the opposite end of the spectrum both in price and subject matter, comes my wishlist item. I also found this case on etsy and I think it's adorable. It is Czech crystal encrusted My Little Pony with Pegasus wings and braided hair. This is something that I would love to have for my iPhone....if it weren't priced at $159.00. Here's a link and pic: http://www.etsy.com/listing/85867615/czech-crystal-bling-bling-iphone-case-my

Looking at that seller's other items, I also found a pair of boots that I thought were wishlist worthy so I figured I'd add a second item to bring this back to clothes from i Phone accessories. The boots are grey sheepskin lined with wool and look Uggish. The boots have Czech crystals that form the face of one of my favorite movie characters...Jack Skellington. The price is still pretty scary at $179.00, but they're perfect for this time of year. :) Here's a pic and the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/83468682/czech-crystal-bling-bling-wool-boots

Well, that's it for this morning. Just a warning, my next blog may also have iPhone cases. lol I've been searching constantly for the perfect one and there are soooo many.

Savers and Susie's Selections....Say that ten times fast

Friday night, I went to Savers in Warwick, RI while Ken and I were in the area. I was looking at shoes and a lady looking in the same aisle told me that everything was half off that day. What a nice surprise. :) I had already picked out one pair of shoes that was really unique. They are made by HPLA which I didn't find much from when I searched online other than some random ebay listings. They are real suede (tan) with a fringe  and turquoise detail on the back. They have an ankle strap which I found a little hard to use but they are really different. Here's a pic:

They were marked $9.99, but they were 50% off. I had been looking at a pair of blue vintage pumps that were cheap until I heard about the half off sale. That made me reconsider a pair of Mina dark blue shoes that I'd looked at. They're satin, pointed toe, with little lighter blue gems on the front. The Mina shoes were marked $14.99. Here's a pic:

While I was looking for the mate of  single shoe that I found, I found an adorable pair of sparkly Steve Madden shoes that were in the wrong size aisle. I was glad that I'd been checking the aisles for the other shoe to the pair-although I never did find it. The Steve Madden shoes are silver with a bow on the rounded toe and were marked $17.99. Here's a pic:

I looked through the pants and sweaters while I was there but didn't find anything else. The few sweater that I found had stains on them, which I know is a risk you take and if it's in a spot that I can figure out a way to cover I might go for it, but they weren't. Wow, that was a long sentence. Anyway, that was it for my Savers deal but I went to a few consignment shops yesterday.

Yesterday I checked out a consignment shop that I'd seen before called Susie's Selections. It's in a plaza in Abington right on Rte. 18 with a Mary-Lou's and Battleground Games and Hobbies which is a really cool game shop. She even has a website: http://www.susiesselections.com/ . Susie's had a pretty good selection of juniors clothes and tops were separated onto racks by size. There were some cute bags and shoes too, but I only found a few shirts. I kept with my new trend of not trying them on which this time was more for Ken's benefit, so I have pics of me trying them on at home again. The first shirt is a short sleeve mock turtleneck by Ambiance Apparel. It's a khaki color thin jersey cotton and gathers where the neck meets the collar. It was $5.99, here's a pic:

I also found a cobalt blue mock neck but I'm not sure what brand it is because someone cut the tags out of it. It's also jersey cotton but a much looser fit, has the gathering at the collar, bunched sleeves, and the sleeves are longer and gather in the middle. It was marked $7.99 but was 25% off, so ended up being $5.99. Here's a pic:

The last top that I found is also a cobalt blue and is a 3/4 sleeve sweater from Forever 21. The sleeves have a slight puff and are banded at the bottom as well as the bottom of the sweater. It was marked $8.99 but was 50% off so it ended up being $4.50.  Here's a pic:

Today's deal of the day item and wishlist item relate. It's kind of the high and low end of something that I've been looking for. I saw a pair on etsy and I've been on the hunt since. I really want a pair of oxford booties. I may end up going with the pair that I'm sharing as the deal of the day. They're made by Bamboo which is a brand that I have a few pairs from. They're not expensively made shoes by any means which is why I wouldn't want to spend too much money for them. There are a ton of them out there though. They come in "blush" which is a natural color and black. The heel is about 5" with a 1.25" platform in the front and they boast a non-skid sole. Here's a pic and link to an ebay listing to a pair for $24.99 new with the box: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blush-Beige-Platform-Lace-Up-Oxford-Ankle-Boot-8-us-/170631874029#ht_4067wt_600

My wishlist pair comes from Giuseppe Zanotti at Neiman Marcus's website. This pair is has a small peep toe and a 5 1/2" heel. The shoe is snake skin embossed leather to give it a unique pattern and is made in Italy. At $995, they can stay in Italy. lol I can appreciate them from a distance. Well, if I hope to wake up for work tomorrow I should probably go to sleep. Goodnight readers.

I never seem to be...Just Looking

I have some great deals to tell you about tonight that I got today on my lunch break. I worked today (I guess technically yesterday), on Veteran's Day, and decided to go shopping on my lunch break instead of reading like I usually do. I hadn't been to Just Looking in a while and figured there would be a lot of new stuff there with the changed season. Just Looking is in Raynham in the plaza across from Bob's and Aldi. Well, I was right about them having new stuff and I found sweater that I liked immediately. It helped that it was one of the first shirts hanging on the rack when I walked in. lol It's an Ann Taylor, mostly cotton blend, empire waist, turquoise, 3/4 sleeve sweater. The blend makes the sweater really soft to the touch and because it had been there since August, it was marked down from the original $8.50. Here's a picture of me trying it on when I got it home:

Next, I found purple jersey cotton turtle neck from the Gap. I love the length of the body and the sleeves because they are extra long. It was also marked down-from $6.95, because it was brought in back in August. Here's a pic:

The next shirt that I found was also jersey cotton and is from Banana Republic. It's bright orange with long sleeves and a gathered scoop neck collar. Like my other finds, it was marked down. I just now, looking at the tags again, realized that they all came in on the same day, so they probably came from the same person. I guess she had good taste. haha Anyway, the orange shirt was marked down from $8.25. It looks a little pink in the pic instead of orange, but here's the pic:

The sweater that I found after that is a grey leopard print wrap style sweater from Dress Barn. Since it came in on the same date in August, it was marked down from $7.95. I may end up taking it in a little so it fits better around the waist, but I'm going to see what it looks like with a tank under it. Here's the pic:

After that, I glanced at the pants and didn't see anything that I "had" to have, then the dresses. I found a cute grey sweater-dress made by a brand I'd never heard of but that caught my eye, Ashley! It was only $6.95 and looked like the right size since I'd already decided I wasn't trying anything on. (this is not typical and may even be a first) Here's a pic of the sweater-dress:

The sweater-dress will look better when I don't have it on over a pair of jeans. :) Oh, and please try to disregard/forget the mess in the background in the pics....it's just my room. hehe

So I brought all of this up to the register not knowing exactly what to expect because I couldn't remember how the discounts work depending on how many months things have been there, and everything totaled out to $21.00!! The shop owner reminded me that a purchase $25 or higher would get me a stamp on my frequent buyers card-yes they have one too,so I went back and grabbed a short sleeved shirt that I'd looked at and didn't take the first time. It's from Banana Republic and it's green cotton with bunched sleeves and a slit/v-neck. Here's a pic:

For everything: five shirts and a sweater-dress, it came to just over $25! Deals like that don't happen every day, so I needed to share and couldn't wait to do it. I hope I didn't overload you with pictures.

Today's deal of the day comes from Sears.com. I actually found these booties during my online search last night but was already stuck between two items. These booties are faux suede with a side zipper and a 4.75" heel. The description may sound similar to last night's, but the booties aren't. What sets tonight's booties apart is the large rosette accent on the side of boot. They are available in three different solid colors: beige, red, or black. Sears.com seems to only have the beige in stock but I've also seen them on other sites. Here's the link and pic: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0000000000000000334200000000000ELLIOT-12P?ci_sku=SPM5706389601&ci_src=14110944&i_cntr=1321078554818&sid=IDx20101019x00001a

My wishlist item is kind of a revision of one of my first wishlist items. It's a Juicy Couture starter charm bracelet. This one, unlike the first one, would match my Juicy necklace. It isn't all that expensive but I still don't think that I'd spend the $42 on a bracelet that's silver plated....even if it is Juicy....and it matches the necklace. I swear I'm not caving. lol I found the bracelet on Piperlime.com when I was actually looking for something else. I'd heard of piperlime from Project Runway, but I'd never been to the site. It seems pretty easy to use. Here's a link and pic of the bracelet:
On that note, I'm going to bed. I may try to post again before the weekends over considering my successful trip to Savers tonight, but I'm going to leave you in suspense for now. Goodnight.

Officially Back in the Swing :)

When I said in my last blog that I was sharing "most" of the deals that I'd gotten last weekend, I was just saving a few for my next post. I also took another trip to Second Time Around last Sunday....I know I'm completely addicted to their shop. In my defense, not only did I get a great deal on both items that I bought, but I also finally remembered to set up a frequent buyer's card. The way that it works is that for every item you buy that is over $10, you earn a point. After 10 points, you get $10 off of a purchase. For anyone that shops there nearly as often as I do, it's a great idea! On Sunday, I found a sweater-dress in a color that I love to wear, mustard. It's a great color for us redheads. :) The dress is a little short so it will look really cute with a pair of leggings or jeggings, or a tighter pair of dress pants underneath for work. It's a little loose through the waist but looks great with a belt, which is how I found the belt that I also bought that day. I tried it on with the dress (I know it doesn't match lol)  just to see how it would look with a belt and ended up really liking the belt too. The dress was only $9 and the belt was $5 but was 20% off because it had been there for a while. That's one of the beauties of shopping consignment. If it doesn't sell, it gets marked down. Here are pics of both:

I'm thinking of adding a new section, at least to most of my posts for deals that I've gotten in the past since I remember where I've bought most of my clothes/shoes/etc and how much I paid. Today's blast from the past hehehe comes from last winter. I bout this cardigan at Ragz in Middleboro which is also one of my favorite consignment shops and is where I consign my clothes. I had seen the sweater when it was regularly priced and thought it was really cute but didn't buy it. I saw it again the next time I went and it was half off, and that was the deciding factor. It's from New York & Co. and was marked down to $3 or $4 which is a steal. I love the color which is like a pea soup green, plus it's argyle which I also love. The thin lines through the argyle are actually hot pink which is usually what color I wear underneath to accent it. I would definitely say it's one of my favorite sweaters. Here's a pic:

For today's deal of the day, it was a toss up. Both shoes are from the same website and have the same print, in opposite patterns, and are available in both patterns. I hope that made sense. haha I haven't bought anything from this site yet but it has come up a lot in my shoe searches so I thought I should check it out. Also, I've seen shoes on etsy that people have bought from this sight and then customized. Both pairs of shoes are faux suede and are available in black or white zebra print and are priced at $20.99. The first  pair are booties with a  5 1/4" wedge heel with a 1 1/4" platform in the front. The toe is an almond shape and they zip up the sides for an easy on and off.  Here's a pic:

The link is: http://www.amiclubwear.com/shoes-booties-ami-yh-12blackzebrasu.html if you want to check them out. The second pair is also a faux suede bootie and has 5 1/2" heel stilletto heel with a 1 1/2" platform in the front. They also have an almond shaped toe and side zippers. This pair is lined with faux leather and describes the inside as lightly cushioned which sounds promising. Here is the link and pic: http://www.amiclubwear.com/shoes-booties-ami-yh-16whitezebra.html#

Tonight's wishlist item is something that I found on Betsey Johnson's website. Her stuff is really cute and quirky. I found this clutch and thought it was adorable. It's a hand held clutch with a big set of lips on it. The main part of the clutch looks like pink leopard print though the site says the color is black?? I guess I don't have to worry since I won't be spending the $88 for it anytime soon. ;) It sure is pretty to look at though. That's all I have for tonight, but I'm really trying to commit to posting regularly. So keep checking back, follow me if you want updates of when I post, and leave me some feedback. :) Goodnight.

Dudley Does Right

If you've never heard of it before, there is a flea market in Dudley, MA called the Dudley Do-Right Flea Market. It's a decent sized flea market with some vendors offering antiques, used items, some with crafts, and some with your run of the mill priced down new stuff. I made out really well yesterday with the same vendor that I'd bought my used Ed Hardy bag and new scarf from. I bought 18 paperback books for $8. Most of them were Steven King of Dean Koontz books. At another vendor I found a really cute black and white belt for $1 that's adjustable to any size because of the way that the belt is woven. Here's a pic:
The same vendor had a really cute Betsey Johnson umbrella that I almost bought but I thought she was asking too much for it considering how cheap I am. ;)
We we looking to stop at a few antique shops in the area and on the way I spotted a consignment shop. The fact that there were a few cars in the lot of the small shop seemed really promising to me. We were still in Dudley, MA and the shop was called Victorian Rose Consignment. I found some cute sweaters when I first walked in then realized that I wasn't looking in my size. The owner has everything arranged by size which makes it really easy if you're paying attention. lol Which lead me to find this sweater:
This wasn't the highlight of my experience there though. When I made it back to the shoe section, Ken pointed out a couple of pairs of cowboy boots which I have been searching for for a while. I've been looking for something authentic looking, in leather. I already have a plain black pair of cowboy style boots that are really simple and cheaply made and I've been searching for something nicer, with a cool embroidered, embossed, or painted design on them. Well, we found them. The "authentic" looking pair is made by a brand called Laredo. I've looked them up online and new they sell for $80-120, used for about $50, I paid $15 for mine! :) Here's a picture of me showing them off:

We also found a more stylish pair of cowboy boots that weren't marked inside with a brand name but seem to be really well made. I wore them for the first time today and 3 people asked me where I bought them. So, I searched high and low online to try and track down the original source and I couldn't find them. I found a pair of really high end boots made by Sora Razz that look almost exactly like them selling for $300-$400, but mine aren't marked with the name where the Sora Razz boots are so they aren't that brand. Sadly for anyone else looking for a pair, I think I found the only ones. hehe Anyway, here they are:
I wore my new boots to the Seekonk Flea Market and to Providence walking around. I think I'm well on my way to breaking them in. Yesterday, walking around Dudley and the rest of our Western Mass adventure, I wore a pair of boots that I bought last winter from hidden treasures. I picked them up for a few dollars, maybe 5 on sale and I've only worn them one other time. I think with the cold weather that we've been having, it's time to break out the wintry boots:

Now that I've told you about some of the most of the awesome deals that I got this weekend, I'll get to the deal of the day. I found today's on Guess's website. You wouldn't think that there would be much dealworthy on there but it's just a matter of sorting by "price lowest to highest". haha These earrings weren't the least expensive item on the site, but I thought they were really cute. One thing about them that is important to me is that they're nickle and lead free, so they won't bother my ears. They also come in they're own pouch and they're on sale for $14.99. Here's a pic and the link: http://shop.guess.com/Catalog/View/UBE12012
Main Item Image
My wishlist item tonight comes from a designer who's name I really hope I'll see at Second Time Around  some day, Alexander McQueen. Maybe his stuff is a little too expensive to ever end up in a consignment shop and I'm just dreaming....that is what this wishlist is for afterall. I don't even remember how I stumbled across this scarf while I was looking for stuff for my blog but I love it. It's that perfect combination like my last wishlist item where it's kind of hot, but kind of creepy, only not so creepy. It's a purple leopard print silk scarf, but within the leopard print, there are McQueen's signature skulls. It sounds perfect, until I see place where it says $475.....nevermind. Here's a picture of the scarf and the link:

Back Again :)

I'm happy to say that it didn't take me so long to post again this time. I'm going to start out by talking about a neat thrift shop that I found when Ken and I went out to the cape last weekend. We were antiquing and I saw a sign for a thrift shop at a church so we decided to stop in. The first thing that I found, almost immediately(I think it was meant to be) was a pair of green shoes. They are real suede with gold trim woven around the outside that ties in a bow on the front and they're from the gap. The bottoms of the shoes are completely smooth so I can't imagine that they've even been worn once. Anyway, here's a picture of them:
I know, they're so me! They also fill the void left behind by my old green shoes that I got rid of a few months ago that I loved so much. Next, I found a green three-quarter sleeve sweater, also from the Gap. It's 100% cotton, which I like better than most blends. I think between the shoes, sweater, and my new Juicy bag, it's proof that I have  green fever. lol After that, I found a pink short sleeve sweater that is 97% cotton from Merona  that is really soft and both sweaters were in really good condition. I took pictures:
The best part of the purchase was that I only spent $7 all together! Now that's a bargain. It certainly beat the prices at the antique stores that we were stopping at. ;) Speaking of expensive though, I found a really cool wishlist item today on etsy. I was looking at shoes...big surprise, and found these:
HUNGRY TIGERS
I mean, how cool is it that the artist takes a hot shoe and paints a creepy design on the bottom. It's not quite cool enough for me to dish out $250.00 which is why they make the wishlist, but very cool.  There are different shoes with different designs available on the bottom and she even does custom work. Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://www.etsy.com/listing/62853141/hungry-tigers   If you want to look at different shoes, just click over on the right where it says the # of items in her shop. Etsy.com is always a good site to find unique stuff.

Last but not least, today's deal of the day if from JCPenny. Ken and I actually went there for jeans for him recently and I had forgotten how good there sales can be. I found some cute stuff on their website including this dress:
Bailey Blue Ruffled V-Neck Dress w/Belt
The dress is on sale for $19.99 and comes with the belt. It's perfect for all seasons because coming into the colder weather, you can just put a short sweater over it. The site has a limited selection in sizes but it does say that the dress is available in stores, so here's the link: http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1c5c147&DeptID=71275&CatID=81020&SO=1&Ne=4294957900+29+3+1031+8+18+949&CatSel=4294934949|casual+dresses&NOffset=0&x5view=1&shopperType=G&N=4294934949&Nao=42&PSO=1&bcCat=3&CmCatId=71275|81020&sa=1

No more apologies....

Okay, so it's been months again since my last post and I've realized that maybe this blog will come and go. I'm hoping that I'll have time to post more often, but it never seems to actually happen so I'm going to stop starting all of them with apologies. lol

Well, I'll start the real blogging by saying I have a new consignment addiction...Second Time Around. How can you not love a consignment shop where you can find Juicy Couture?! I can't. The weekend before last, I bought a Juicy bag and necklace, see below:

The bag seems to be unused and is in perfect condition. Even the lining is completely unmarked. :) The necklace I've already worn several times because it goes with everything and since I bought it second hand didn't cost any more than a normal necklace. ;) Overall, it was a great bargain Juicy purchase and I left the store very happy...so happy that I went back the following weekend.
This past weekend, I went back and bought a second Juicy necklace which is a little strawberry on it, an nice light/med weight jacket from the Gap (only $19) and a cardigan from Forever 21 for $5. Another steal! Here are pics of the jacket and the necklace:

That's all I took the time to photograph and pull pics of for recent purchases but if you've never been to that shop before, you should check it out, they have 25 locations and they've been around since the 70s....I read the history on their website. Anyway, check out their site: http://www.secondtimearound.net/ and more importantly, their shop. I usually go to the one in Providence.

Now, for the deal of the day and my wish list item. I'll start with my wish list item. As well as my continued Juicy obsession, I've made my first, and second Ed Hardy purchases. So, I decided to check out the Hardy website. Naturally, I looked at the shoes. I wasn't very impressed but I did find these really cute wedges:
Women's Chantel Heel
Unfortunately, the site does not give any info about them like the height of the heel or anything like that. You would think they would know we need that kind of information before a $59.99(on sale) purchase. haha
I love the yellow and the fact that there is a koi fish on the heel-like on my Ed Hardy bag. :) Anyway, if you'd like to check them out, the link is: http://edhardyshop.com/categories/shoes/womens-shoes/women-view-all/women-s-chantel-heel.html
The deal of the day goes to Charlotte Russe for the deal they have on their "belt trios". They have five different sets to choose from for $5.49 each. Each of the belts in the sets is different and they're all skinny belts available in s/m or m/l sizes. I've copied pics of my favorite three sets and a link:

Alright, that's all for now. I think it's time for bed. I hope I'll post again before Christmas. hehe

Sorry for neglecting you blog...lol

Well, it's been over a month since my last post. I'll start off by saying that I've been cutting down on my own shopping but I still have lots of stuff that I haven't posted and I still do my fair share of window shopping so I'll still find the deals. :)
I went into a consignment shop in Providence this weekend that carried mostly high end and designer clothes, shoes, etc. Their prices were higher than I was willing to pay for most things but I was able to find two really cute dresses, both under $20 and a pair of Naughty Monkey sandals that are perfect for this warm weather that we're finally getting. They will match almost anything and the heel is thicker than I usually go for which makes them a lot more stable. I found a picture of them online:

Now, for the deal of the day, I was back on 15dollarstore.com. I found this adorable dress and if I hadn't just bought two dresses yesterday, I'd be buying it for myself. It's a jersey/rayon blend animal print with a removable faux leather belt. I have really been into belted dresses lately, or adding belts to dresses. It even has one of my favorite features for a dress (when they're placed right and don't look sloppy) pockets!     While I was on the site, I also found another cute summery sandal. It has a woven wedge heel with a black patent upper which creates a great contrast. The rope accents on the toe and the back of the heel give it a ocean feel and would look great with a pair of khaki capris....I have just the pair! The heel is really high at 5 1/4 inches but it does have a 1 1/2 inch platform in the front. Here is the link and the photo:

I'll end with my wishlist item of the day. Irregular Choice makes really unique shoes.....really unique. I was looking over their new collection and I think this shoe is gorgeous! The heel is a carved wooden wedge. The upper is fabric with a rosette on the toe and a huge strawberry charm hanging from the strap. At about $150, they make it onto the wishlist but I wouldn't spend that even for something this eye catching.
