A Divine Bag Sale

A few weeks ago, I got an email telling me about a "Bag Sale" at Divine Consign. I've been to the bag sale at Divine Consign before so I knew how it worked. You can bring a paper shopping bag or similar sized reusable bag with you and you fill it with sale items for $10. The last time that I'd gone was at the end of the summer so most of the sale items were spring/summer items. I expected most of the items this time to be winter items. Since I left Ken in the car, I shopped around and picked out an armload of cute stuff but didn't try any on. All 12 of my items fit in one bag so including two brand new items-with tags, I only spent $10. One of the skirts that I bought, I gave to my mom since she'd been trying to find a grey skirt and I was able to find two. I also ended up giving away a pair of pants from Express that still had the tags on them and a plaid pair of capris that didn't fit quite right.

I found two nice pairs of corduroys, a dark brown pair from J. Crew and a pale khaki pair from London Jeans. In the second pic with the light cords, I have on a cardigan/tank set from Van Heusen. The cardigan set has Asian style buttons:

I found a great grey pencil skirt from Banana Republic that buttons in the back:

This top is Ann Taylor and ties at the end of the sleeves. The empire waistline sits at just the right spot which is an issue in smaller shirts. The black pants have slits at the bottom of the legs which make it easy to show off a cute pair of pumps:
I also bought a pair of lined wool pants from Express that are a variegated black/grey:

In the photo I'm wearing the pants with a blazer that I bought at the sale also. It has a custom lining with black and white animal print:

One of the items that still had the tags on it was a cute plaid skirt from Brooks Brothers marked $69.50!

The last thing that I found before I went to the register was a button-up shirt that looks brand new and is from New York and Co. :

I've been to quite a few sales since so I have a lot to share but that's all I've taken pics of so far. I'm going to put this item as my wish list item tonight even though I don't think it's a bad deal or overly expensive. I just have certain limits to what I'll spend on a dress. I have the same limits for shoes, purses, jeans, shirts, etc and  they help keep me in line. lol This dress is listed on Etsy because it's a vintage Betsey Johnson. I love the lace overlay and the contrast of the lace and the dress underneath. The seller has it listed at $55 which is cheap for a Betsey dress. Here's a pic and the link:

For today's deal of the day, I chose a bathing suit from Victoria's Secret. One of the things that I like most about VS bikinis is that they're sold in separates. This top is sold by bra size which makes it even easier to guarentee the right fit and it's on sale for $24. The bottoms come in different styles but this style, the "cheeky hipkini" is on sale for $15. Here's the link and a pic:

That's all for tonight. It's late and I'm going to hope that I'm not so tired that I'm posting a bunch of typos. Goodnight!

Clearing the Cobwebs

So, it's been almost a year since I've last updated my blog. That's really hard to believe. It really doesn't seem like that long. There have certainly been plenty of times since my last entry that I've promised myself that I was going to update my blog or make a new post and just never made the time. It hasn't been that I haven't done any shopping in the last year, that's for sure. Since I'm finally posting today-on a Tuesday night, I'll start bragging about this weekend's deals.

Saturday, the Salvation Army in Wareham had their 50% off everything sale. If you want to check out their next big sale, you can keep an eye out for it on their Facebook page. They'll post about the sale coming up and what the hours will be. Anyway, Ken and I went to the sale on Saturday and I picked out a bunch of dress pants to try on for work. Out of the dress pants I tried on, I only ended up liking the fit of two pairs but one was from the Gap and is a really nice peachy/pink color for spring and the other is plaid with brown and orange tones:

I then moved on to the jeans and picked out all the American Eagle jeans that I could find since they are about the only jeans that I can trust buying without trying on. I found three pairs that I really liked and that didn't look just like a pair that I already had:

I took a quick look through the dresses and found a really cute black wrap dress from Banana Republic but nothing else caught my eye. I sorted through their large collection of belts both hanging and in a basket and found three belts that I liked that since they were normally $1.99 were definitely a steal:

I would say may favorite part of the experience, especially after waiting in the very long line at the register, was when they gave me my total. For two pairs of work pants, three pairs of AE jeans, a Banana Republic wrap dress, and three belts-it came to $25!

Of course my deals didn't stop there. I had a coupon for DSW and since it is also in Wareham, we made that our (almost) next stop. We made a quick pit stop at the flea market down the road on the way where I bought some chop sticks to wear in my hair, then went to DSW.

I headed straight to the back of the store for the clearance section and looked through all the shoes in my size. When I was towards the end of the second aisle, I found a nice pair of Guess peep toe pumps that I'm pretty sure I'd looked at there before. They have a high gold snake skin spike heel and the main part of the shoe is black faux suede. Right after I found the black pumps, I found a pair of teal Guess shoes too! I couldn't have left them there if I tried. They were the perfect color, had animal print, the heels were sky high, and they were super cheap. After my coupon ($5 off) I ended up spending $30 for both pairs:

For tonight's wishlist item, this comes from a flyer that I got in the mail from Juicy Couture. I love their charm bracelets and charms. In the flyer they sent me, they also have a charm belt with a cool nautical theme. With a price of  $128.00 I can't see myself buying one, especially since they don't have silver. :) Here's a pic and the link:

To end tonight's entry so I can get some sleep, or atleast watch some re-runs of Law and Order and think about sleeping, here's the Deal of the Day! One of my favorite sites to bargain hunt on 15dollarstore.com again proving to have awesome deals on shoes/boots, and everything else. These boots are Dollhouse brand and are brown with studs around the bottom. The boots have a zipper on the side (bottom) to make it easier to get them on and off and about a 5" heel. The platform in the front is over an inch so it makes the heel seem not sooo high and at 12 1/2" tall they will probably come to right below the knee. Here's a pic and the link:

Well, that's all for tonight. Hopefully I'll get back in to the swing of blogging again but I don't want to make any promises. : P Goodnight.

Feeling Juicy

Over the last few years, I've gone from admiring Juicy Couture to actually buying their products...mostly second hand. They were a brand that was on my wishlist long before my blog began. I've decided to devote tonight's blog to my recent Juicy purchases and gifts. I'll start with the purse that Ken's mom bought me for Christmas. It's a large velour maroon bag. The inside has a back zipper pocket and a shoulder strap that you can use instead of the handles (which are long enough to go over my shoulder). It has embroidery and little gems on the front with Juicy Couture and their crown logo. I was so excited when I opened it that I hugged it. :)

Also for my birthday, my Aunt Teri bought me a Juicy bracelet. I've worn the bracelet almost every day since. It's gold and has Juicy in the center with little crystals in the "J". The clasp even has a tiny heart that says Juicy on a silver banner. Here's a pic:

While Ken and I were in Boston about a month later, checking out the Newbury St. locations on Second Time Around, he spotted the matching necklace. With how much I love the bracelet, it only made sense to buy the necklace too...especially at $35. Here is a pic:

At the Providence location of Second Time Around last weekend, I found another Juicy necklace. This one is a little less simple and very cute! They were having a St. Patrick's Day sale so I only ended up paying $20 for it. Here's a pic:

I saved the best for last deal wise. This purse I picked up my Birthday weekend while Ken and I were up in NH. I found it at a consignment shop marked down to $30 and I knew I had to have it. When I got the register it rang up for $15 and change! It's teal with a brown/tan bow and a "J" on the front. It also has a big bumble bee charm on the front. The inside of this bag has more pockets than my maroon bag but I don't use them all. Here's a pic:

For today's deal of the day, I had to look really hard online to find a good deal on a Juicy item but I found one. On Nordstrom.com, I was able to find an iPhone case for $28. It's a gel case with crown logos all over it and the Juicy Couture initials in the middle. There is also a gemstone charm dangling from the side. It's available in a few different colors but I liked the orange...and pink the best. Here's  a pic:

I didn't have to look as hard for a wishlist item but it was a little tough to pick just one. I figured since tonight's blog had been shoe free so far, I'd pick a pair of shoes. These are very similar to the two colors that I liked in the phone case-pink and orange and have a 3.5" wedge heel. They also have tassels on the front which I usually don't like but I guess they need to be on the right shoe, or sandal. lol Here's a pic and the link:

That's all for tonight considering it's almost 2:30AM. I think I should probably get some sleep. Goodnight. :)

Continuation of last weekend....

Luckily, I saved some of last weekend's deals to share because I didn't get out much this weekend. Between the crappy weather and a headache, I stayed in for the most part. I'll start tonight's blog with showing you what Ken bought me at Newbury Comics last weekend. :) I bought him this same type of wallet for Christmas. It's called a Mighty Wallet and they have a website that explains their story. Their made of Tyvek which is a strong, water resistant paper and it stretches to what you put in it. They have lots of different designs though when I was looking I didn't see this one. Here it is:

We also went to a new (to us) flea market last weekend in Providence. It was similar to what you'd see at the Raynham Flea market, so mostly new stuff and a lot of junk. There were a few booths with nice things there though and the reason that we went was to look at the new location of the animals from Regal Reptile. That was a waste of time because they just had a few snakes and then some guinea pigs and small pets. They weren't set up with what I expected. I was sad because Regal Reptile had some really cool snakes and they even had some alligators. Anyway, I did find some nice scarves for $5 each. They are a Pashmina blend which is super soft and they are both a leopard print. The first one is a grey on grey print so it is really subtle. I like it a lot but it's hard to get a good pic of. The second is purple and grey. Here are pics of both:

We stopped in at Tealuxe after the flea market and then headed over to Second Time Around where I tried on a few things. They had a grey pencil skirt that I really liked that was Bebe but it didn't wow me as much as it needed to. I also tried on a pair of dress pants that were only a few dollars that turned out to be super long, like too long even for high heels. Then I tried on a pair of mustard colored corduroys from the Gap. Not only was it love at first sight, they were a perfect fit! They were one of the few things not marked down in the store (they were having a big sale) but at $19 I still couldn't go wrong. Here's a pic:

Tonight's blast from the past item comes from my other favorite, and more affordable consignment shop, Ragz. I bought this sweatshirt maybe 5 or 6 months ago there for about $15 and it's from Victoria's Secret Pink. It's navy blue velour with fur inside the hood and it's fully lined to make it extra warm.  The zipper pull is a little heart and it has silver embroidery on the back. I took a pic so you could see the hood and the back of the sweatshirt. lol

For today's deal of the day, I wanted to find a pair of winter boots. That turned out to be a lot harder than I thought. I did find a wintery pair for the deal of the day but not anything that I would be jumping around the snow in. I found these on 15dollarstore.com and they have 3" wedge heel. The height of the boot is about 11" and it has faux fur and a criss-crossed belt detail. You can't beat the price! Here's the link and a pic: http://15dollarstore.com/p/viva-secret-suedette-sasha-wedge-tall-boot-w-faux-fur-black-/3703703137102548

While hunting for the deal of the day, I found today's wishlist item. These boots are boots that I could jump about in the snow in and are also still really cute. They are made by DC which I love for their sneakers and they have the logo on them. They have a rubber sole and faux fur top. The pic is of the black and silver but they have several color options. This pair is priced at $85. Here is the link and the pic: http://store.dcshoes.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11180357&camp=dcdid&gclid=COWM2_Dr560CFUFN4AodZALp4A
Well, that's all for tonight. I apologize for any errors in tonight's post. I usually proof read before posting, but I'm going to sleep. Goodnight. :)

Winter Wonderful!

I went to the Providence Place mall today...so Ken could go the Newbury Comics. After Newbury Comics, I stopped into Charlotte Russe. I hadn't been in there in a while since I've cut back a lot on my shopping and they were their $5-$10-$15 sale like they had last winter. I bought a pair of black tights with little gems on them-footless for $5. Here's a pic:

I also found a really cute hat and mittens set for $5. All of their mittens, gloves, and winter hats were $5. They had some really cute stuff but I didn't really look at anything else after I saw this set. I think I have a bit of an owl obsession. You can't really see them in the picture, but the hat has sequins on it in between the owls. There is a pom pom on the top and on the end of the braids that hang from the ear flaps. Here's a pic and you can also find the set on their website:

I didn't find any shoes that I had to have....thank goodness! They did have all of their flats on sale for $10 though. I did find a really sparkly belt. I've been on a belt kick lately too. I like to put a wide belt over a sweater-dress or a tunic top, especially if it's a little loose. This glittery leopard print belt was marked down to $4.99, which is about as much as I like to spend on a belt. They have a much better selection of sale belts online than what was in the store. Here's a pic:

Last but not least, what I'd actually looked for at Forever 21 and struck out, hair accessories. :) Charlotte Russe had a section of headbands, bobby pins, clips, etc on sale for $2.99. I picked out these two 3 packs of bobby pins:

That sums up my Charlotte Russe deal which I think was a really good one. The only reason that I'd tried Forever 21 first for hair accessories is that I've had really good luck there in the past. For example:

I got these two a while ago and they're both really well made. The comb style clip is one of my favorites and I just got a compliment on the smaller one the last time I wore it. I'm pretty sure I got them for $1.99 each on sale.

I do have another blast from the past item tonight with this winter weather. I've had to break out the really warm clothes, and even my winter boots. I bought these boots for $15 at a yard sale, and they're Coach with suede and real fur trim. They are super warm, and super comfy. That is why I have been wearing them most nights this past week. My only gripe is that I wish they were black instead of brown because I usually wear a black coat, but I really can't complain. Here's a pic:

After briefly changing the subject, I'm going to bring it back the Charlotte Russe for the Deal of the Day. They have a ton of stuff on sale right now so I would recommend going into a store or checking out the site, but this is just one item I picked out from the site. This bootie is in one of my favorite colors-cobalt blue. They are a velvet fabric with a belted cuff and almond shaped toe. The heel is 4" with a 3/4" platform in the front. Here is a pic and the link:
http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11361393&cp=4238904.4241225
Keeping with the cold weather theme, tonight's wishlist item is a sweater-dress from Victoria's Secret. Even for the sale price of $69.50, this one will stay on the wishlist. It's nice to dream though. It's long sleeved, and long in general with 22" from the waist measurement-vs. most of the sweater-dresses which are 17". It has an all over cable knit and a turtle neck to keep you toasty. :) It comes in four colors but the orange is my favorite. Here's a pic and the link:

Well, that's all for tonight. I'm going to curl up under my warm blankets and watch some Bones before I fall asleep.

Sunday Morning Reminisce

Since I haven't done any clothes shopping this week/weekend, I figured I'd devote most of today's blog to past deals. I've decided to highlight some of the shoes/boots that I bought when Chadwicks had their warehouse sale. The first time that I went, it was a "friends and family" sale so everything was half off of the warehouse prices. That meant that shoes were $2.50 a pair and boots were $5.00. The second time, shoes were $5.00 which was still a steal because they're nice shoes, none of they are cheaply made. I'll start with a pair that you'll recognize from my profile picture. These shoes are made by Rampage and are cloth(wool?) with a black and white houndstooth print. Here's the pic:

The second is a pair of boots the I picked up at the first sale, so they were only $5! They are made by Bijou New York and they're off-white faux leather. What I love most about them is all of the detail; they are studded, belted, and have three chains that wrap around the back of the heel. Here's a pic:

The next pair is also by Bijou New York and are turquoise suede. This shoe is a peep toe flat with a darker turquoise belt on the front and accent on the back. My favorite detail though is the fringe. They also had this shoe in other colors, but not in my size. :( Here's a pic:

These shoes are a similar color, but the similarity ends there. The heel on this shoe is what caught my eye. It's really different because it's like a wedge with a piece cut out. The heel is silver and made of a very hard plastic. The upper material is pretty stiff too, but I'm hoping it will soften up after I wear them a few times. I also bought these the first time I went to Chadwicks. I may have to repeat this Chadwicks flashback another time to fit some more in, but here's a pic:

The reason for my lack of shopping is that I've made a big purchase this week instead. I bought the new iPhone 4S. I have to wait until December 9th to get it because it's out of stock, but it's given me some time to shop for cases/covers/skins etc. I'll be able to have something delivered by the time it gets here. I found some really cheap accessory bundles on ebay which is usually where I get mine. I started looking because I found a decal that I really liked on etsy and I want to put a hard case around it too. The decal is vinyl and covers the back of the iPhone. I'm putting it up as my deal of the day because at $6 and a $3.25 shipping charge, it's one of the least expensive...and coolest decals that I've seen. Here's a pic and the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/84643779/dont-spread-the-dead-iphone-4-iphone-4s
Don't Spread the Dead iPhone 4, iPhone 4s Skin

On the opposite end of the spectrum both in price and subject matter, comes my wishlist item. I also found this case on etsy and I think it's adorable. It is Czech crystal encrusted My Little Pony with Pegasus wings and braided hair. This is something that I would love to have for my iPhone....if it weren't priced at $159.00. Here's a link and pic: http://www.etsy.com/listing/85867615/czech-crystal-bling-bling-iphone-case-my
Czech Crystal Bling Bling iphone case My Little Pony

Looking at that seller's other items, I also found a pair of boots that I thought were wishlist worthy so I figured I'd add a second item to bring this back to clothes from i Phone accessories. The boots are grey sheepskin lined with wool and look Uggish. The boots have Czech crystals that form the face of one of my favorite movie characters...Jack Skellington. The price is still pretty scary at $179.00, but they're perfect for this time of year. :) Here's a pic and the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/83468682/czech-crystal-bling-bling-wool-boots

Well, that's it for this morning. Just a warning, my next blog may also have iPhone cases. lol I've been searching constantly for the perfect one and there are soooo many.
